The Sea at Play
In February, 2006 NATALIE REED was commissioned to do an enlarged copy of her wonderful oil painting of "The Sea at Play" for the Federal Building in San Francisco, California where it may now be viewed in their entryway at 450 Golden Gate Avenue. They have told her that they find it "very beautiful and striking. It adds greatly to our collection of art work."
Although Natalie and her Giclée maker, Jim Respess, were very successful in reproducing the colors, values and depth of the original, she was not totally satisfied with the detail and power she wished to have in the enlarged copy - so, she worked with acrylic paints for two additional days before sending it onward to San Francisco.
"The Sea at Play" evolved from Natalie's study of the waves at one of her favorite places in California: The state park at Point Lobos, slightly south of Carmel, where it is believed Robert Louis Stevenson thought up "Treasure Island."
Mere seconds after her photo for "THe Sea at Play", she photographed what is now the painting "The Power and Glory of the Sea," in her private collection as well.
You are invited to view "THE SEA AT PLAY" in the Federal Building in San Francisco, California
as well as enjoying many other Delightful and Thrilling Places and Discoveries NATALIE REED shares with you with her Poetry and works of ART.
